Helen Stacey Celebrates 30 years in Recruitment

Aspire Jobs are excited to announce that Managing Director, Helen Stacey, is celebrating 30 years in recruitment, with plans to mark the occasion with a celebratory drinks reception later this month.

Helen started her career in 1988 working for Alfred Marks, before co-founding Smart Recruitment in 1999, which, with the help of her two business partners, she grew to a turnover of £12m in nine years. With five offices and 70 employees, Smart Recruitment was one of the largest and most successful recruitment agencies in the area. After the business was acquired in 2008, Helen set up her own boutique permanent recruitment agency, Aspire Jobs, in 2011, offering a bespoke personal service to candidates and clients across Dorset and Hampshire.

Helen said: “This is an amazing milestone for me. It’s a tough industry, so to still be here, and successful, is something I am truly proud of. It’s fascinating to look at the jobs now that didn’t exist 30 years ago – bloggers, digital marketers, nutritionists, drone operators… the list goes on! Who knows how roles will change over the next 30 years, but I’m a firm believer that the personal and positive intervention of a recruitment consultant will continue to be an integral part of the process.”

To mark her 30th year Helen will be celebrating with an exclusive drinks reception for her supporters, stand-out candidates and clients later this month. She will also be announcing her recent appointment as Chair of Dorset Chamber Life Skills, which raises funds to provide life skills and employability support to young people in care and care leavers. As someone who’s passionate about supporting people through training and employment, the fund is very close to Helen’s heart and allows her to give back to the community.

Ian Girling, CEO of Dorset Chamber of Commerce, said: “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Helen for many years and offer my congratulations on this milestone. Helen has always been an incredible contributor to the Dorset business community through her support as a Dorset Chamber Ambassador as well as her active work on local, regional and national panels. With her commitment and passion to education and her work in supporting people regarding employment, Helen is the perfect Chair for Dorset Chamber Life Skills’’.
