Job Summary

Location: Bournemouth (Boscombe and Parkstone areas)
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, including shifts, sleep-ins and some weekend working 

Aspire Jobs are delighted to be working in partnership with 3Hive Ltd, a family-run business providing therapeutic supported accommodation for young people aged 16+ within the care system.

3Hive currently operates 4 homes in the Bournemouth/Poole area, providing a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for young people as they prepare for greater independence.

Their homes are designed to feel as much like a family home as possible, with dedicated teams providing support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

At the heart of 3Hive is a commitment to helping young people who may have experienced trauma, challenging behaviour, neglect or family breakdown. Their approach focuses on building positive relationships, developing confidence and giving young people the skills and support they need to move towards independent living.

They are now looking for an experienced and compassionate Team Leader to join their team.

This is a hands-on role, working closely with the Registered Service Manager to support and guide staff whilst ensuring the young people receive the highest standards of care and support.

Job Description

As Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing shifts, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the young people.

  • Supporting, motivating and guiding team members to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.

  • Acting as a positive role model and promoting 3Hive's therapeutic approach, including PACE 

  • Supporting young people with their personal development, education, wellbeing and independence.

  • Ensuring individual support plans, risk assessments and daily records are maintained and updated.

  • Supporting the induction, training, coaching and supervision of staff.

  • Working closely with the Registered Service Manager to maintain high standards of safeguarding and compliance.

  • Liaising with external agencies and professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.

  • Taking on Key Worker responsibilities for individual young people.

  • Participating in a rota which includes sleep-ins, weekend working and out-of-hours support responsibilities.

The Successful Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a minimum of two years' experience working with children or young people.

  • Has experience within residential care, supported accommodation or a similar environment.

  • Is confident supporting young people who may have experienced trauma or display challenging behaviour.

  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Can lead by example, motivate colleagues and remain calm under pressure.

  • Understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.

  • Is flexible and comfortable working a rota that includes evenings, sleep-ins and weekends.

  • Has good IT skills and is confident maintaining accurate records.

  • Drives and has own transport

Desirable, but not essential:

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a relevant equivalent qualification.

  • Previous experience supervising or leading a team.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches such as PACE.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position working a rota which includes daytime shifts, sleep-ins and some weekend working.

The role also includes out-of-hours responsibility, providing support to colleagues across 3Hive's homes on a rota basis, including approximately one weekend in three.
