2022 round up and team news

2022 has been a difficult year in so many ways. Not just the political turmoil we've faced, but the war in Ukraine and the ensuing cost of living crisis adding to the complex mix.

Thankfully Aspire Jobs has had a good year, in fact, a good couple of years though we are very mindful that others haven't through no fault of their own. We've been working really hard to fill our client vacancies and we've done our best to think outside the box, in what is still a candidate-driven market.

As with all businesses, we have experienced price hikes, in some cases an increase of over 60% for some job boards. Our positive performance over the last couple of years should see us through the expected recession, though we're not seeing evidence of that yet in the job market, we're keeping a watching eye for it...

The support from our clients and wider connections is never taken for granted at Aspire and we'd like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU whether it has been sending business our way, referring candidates or supporting our social media, it is all truly appreciated.

Now for some team news...

Meeting halfway

Sometimes you need to find a way to make things work. Something that you really want or need in life which is just so far away, may need compromise or a different perspective to achieve.  My grandson and his family emigrated to Australia two years ago and we haven't seen them in person since.

No amount of Facetime can make up for the purely delicious unadulterated cuddle from a 5-year-old for his favourite nanny! Australia feels out of reach, but Thailand isn't so much - so this Christmas my husband and I are off to spend Christmas there and the family are coming to join us. My grandson knows he's going to Thailand, but he doesn't know that we are too! The secret is killing me!

Becky Wooden becomes a new mum!

Please join me in sending Becky our recruitment resourcer our heartfelt congratulations. She had a healthy baby boy, Mason, on 22nd November. Mum and baby are doing very well.

Charitable donations

Instead of sending Christmas cards, our chosen charity for donation this year is The MS Society a cause close to my and my family's hearts.

Faithworks is a local charity finding solutions around food, debt, homelessness, addictive behaviours and social isolation. At the Dorset Chamber Christmas Lunch on December 1st, along with many others, I was pleased to make a food bank donation on behalf of Aspire Jobs.

Dorset Chamber News

Many of you know that I have been a Dorset Chamber Ambassador for many (many!) years. I was delighted at last week's AGM to be confirmed as the new Vice Chair of Ambassadors. Here I am pictured with this great team of people...

Could you do one thing for me this Christmas... leave us a Google review?

As a small business every Google review, testimonial or referral really matters.  If you can’t do a Google review please would you email me a testimonial outlining what you thought of my services please?  It doesn’t have to be long but it needs to be honest. Thanks!

As ever, we are here to support you in finding a new job role, please do drop us a line.

Wishing you a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year from everyone at Aspire Jobs. We look forward to catching up with you in 2023.

Helen & Amanda
