Your company image matters more than ever

I've just read this article in Personnel Today about what different generations want from employers. After more than 35 years in recruitment, I had to smile - it's a familiar story!

The bit about employer brand particularly caught my eye. When 60% of Generation Z (born 1997-2012) say it's 'very important, they're spot on. I see this every day in my candidate interviews. Young professionals are thoroughly checking out potential employers before they'll even consider a role. They're not just looking at your website - they're diving into everything from your Trust Pilot reviews to your social posts.

What I also find interesting is that 86% of Gen Z prioritise career progression, while only 48% of Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964) see it as crucial. This matches what I tell my clients all the time - you've got to show clear career paths nowadays, not just competitive salaries.

The hybrid working stats are eye-opening too. When 70-74% of Generation X (born 1965-1980) and Generation Y/Millennials (born 1981-1996) see this as vital, we can't ignore it. I've had excellent candidates dismiss great roles because employers wouldn't budge on office attendance.
